World Card Making Day (WCMD)

Hi Everyone,
Thought I would share the card that I made for WCMD.   It is a fall theme on what looks like a barn door.  I stamped the tree first on the card front, then masked over a Circle cut out, then stamped the Hardwood to make it look like you were looking through a hole in the Barn door.  I also used a technique called "Thumping" to create more colors in the tree.  This created the fall theme.  Hope you like it.

Watercooler Wednesday WWC85 - Jean's Color Challenge

Thank You Design Team for the Honourable Mention Badge for my card.
I am displaying it with pride!

Jean ---  these are gorgeous colors together.  I too, loved the little kitty.  My cat (Jellicoe) is a Tortoise color, but this picture reminded me so much of when she was a kitten.  She is now a
healthy senior (17 1/2) cat.
We are enjoying a beautiful season right now, lots of sunshine and lots of colors are appearing on the trees.  I did not have any leaf stamp sets or die cuts (they are on my wish list for my October order), so I used feather's instead and they look beautiful in the copper.    I stamped on the beautiful copper foil sheets, cut them out, mounted the feathers on some copper wire and then embossed  woodgrain on black.  I then cut a white flower and a copper centre from the Botanical Builder framelits dies.  The corner punch then finished the card.   My pictures don't do the card justice.  It went together beautifully!

Watercooler Wednesday WWC 84 - Deborah's Sketch Challenge

Lots of inspirational ideas from the Design Team.  I decided to follow Deborah's sketch, and have the design on the side.   My card uses Design Paper that I haven't used in a long time and a Stamp Set by Penny Black.   This is a Masculine card for a birthday.  As you can see...the DSP is gorgeous.   I couldn't resist having it inside the card as well.  The silver adds some panache' on the front and inside.

Merry Monday #212  Deanne's Challenge:  Create a Christmas Card with only Gold, Black, & White

I am so glad these challenges are back!   Over the summer I managed to do 3 of the challenges that I had missed, and so added more to my growing stack of Christmas cards.  The Gold, Black and white are a beautiful combination.  I embossed the "Scenic Season" stamp set in Gold, on a black background and then used white for my card base.   And then added some beautiful gold ribbon to finish the card.  Stunning!   Here are some pictures of my card inside and outside.

Watercooler Wednesday WWC 83 - Penny's Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge

What an honor for my card to be picked as Honorable Mention!   I was up against some stiff competition.  I am PROUD to display the badge on my blog.   Thank you again Design Team!

This challenge gives you so many ideas to create a card.   It is not easy to sit down and create something while your mind is going a mile a minute.   Finally, what you have to do is get serious and pick a row.  So, what I picked was the Fun Fold, Birthday Theme, and Die Cut row.  I used the "Sprinkles of Life" stamp set and created a scene using the Double Z-Fold technique.   The Perfectly Artistic dsp looks great for the inside scene with the apple tree.   It looked a little bare, so I added a Birthday Sentiment from a  SU card kit.  I even used green in my card base.  The ribbon is striped and matches the Wildflower Fields dsp so closely.  My camera does not do the ribbon justice.
