Watercooler Challenges WWC66 - Libby's Sketch Challenge

As with any sketch challenges, you can change the square shape of the card for a rectangle, you can turn it vertically or horizontally, as long as the finished card is clearly based on the sketch.

Happy Mother's Day Everyone!    Hope everyone is out there enjoying the sunshine.

My card follows the sketch pretty closely.  The piece that goes over the bottom image could have been a little narrower, but pretty close to the sketch.  I decided to do a little embossing on the "Perfectly Artistic" DSP.  It came out beautifully.  After the poppies were embossed with Cherry Cobbler, I then watercolored them with the same color.  It made them pop out more and went beautifully with the DSP.

  1. Hi Heather, what a stunning look that heat embossing gives to the Perfectly Artistic DSP. The elegance of the En Francais lettering makes a perfect backdrop to those gorgeous poppies. Great idea, heat embossing the poppies before watercolouring them. It makes the outline of the petals sharper without adding another colour. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.

  2. Gorjus card Heather!!!!! Love the colours and the stamps you used....some of my faves!!!

  3. What a lovely card Heather! Nice choice of colors. Thank you for playing along with my challenge this week at Watercooler Wednesday

  4. I really like the embossing over the Perfectly Artistic DSP, Heather. I looks lovely, as does your colouring of the poppies. Great colour combination, too. Thanks for joining us for the Watercooler Wednesday challenge. ~Deborah

  5. Heather, you've used two of my all-time favourite background stamps. They are in my "keep forever" collection. Beautiful card and lots of little details. Thanks for playing with the Watercooler Challenge.
